System Requirements
To put a scanner where you want in your workspace you need our 10FT Extension Kit. The 10FT USB cable gives you extra reach and the AC adapter prevents the intermittent signal sometimes caused by placing your scanner past the standard 6FT USB cable length.

The AC power adapter, designed exclusively for our duplex document and card scanners, plugs into the DP488, DP487 and DP687, providing more power for faster scanning. Also, it comes with two interchangeable faceplates for use in the United Kingdom and Europe.

In addition, having an AC adapter is important when using a USB hub or switch. Some hubs and switches cannot supply the necessary power to the scanner. With an AC adapter, you get a reliable source of power for uninterrupted scanning.
